Our First International Tour

The following pages chronicle our days during our first tour overseas. We played 10 shows in Belgium and Holland in just about 2 weeks. We learned a lot about playing shows in Europe, a lot about the Belgian beers, about the people of the low-lands, about the trains to Amsterdam, and we learned a lot about ourselves. Enjoy!

Seismic Surf in Sacramento (October 2003)

During the weekend of Oct.18-19, Northern California was the epicenter for surf sounds of seismic proportions. On Saturday the 18th, the venerable Sacramento dive Old Ironsides hosted Pollo del Mar, Slacktone, and local group The Hypnotic IV.

San Francisco's Hotel Utah was the scene for The Mach IV, Slacktone, and for the first time ever on any stage, The Endless Drummer! Any one of those acts would have been worth the trip (2+ hours, depending on #@$%! bridge traffic), but all three of them--woohoo!

It was a night of a thousand stars (well, at least a couple dozen) at The Pitcher House in Hermosa Beach, CA on Friday, March 24, 2000. Four of the best surf-instro bands on the planet converged on this unsuspecting club for a night of unrelenting picking, pounding, and reverb.

First, a disclaimer for the band... We had never played a "Corporate" type show before, and frankly had no idea what to expect. The booker was paying us well to do what we love to do, so we planned to just go with the flow of the evening. Ah, but the night's river had many an exciting eddy.
